Movement and community when Råda school invited to a schoolyard party

For the third year running, the schoolyard at Råda School was transformed into a vibrant meeting place filled with activity, fun and new discoveries. Around 700 people - pupils, siblings, guardians and grandparents - gathered for this year's schoolyard party, where both children and adults had the chance to try out a range of sports together.

Several local sports clubs participated in the event and showcased their sports, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new hobbies - and for clubs a chance to recruit new members.

- On an occasion like this, it becomes so clear how movement unites different generations and how joyful it is when you move together," says Linda Johansson, Process Manager Make a Move.

The aim of the schoolyard party is to inspire more active leisure time and lower the threshold for trying new activities. In addition to the many taster activities, a flea market was organized with second-hand leisure items such as skis, inlines and football boots. What wasn't sold was donated to Fritidsbanken in Lidköping - a non-profit organization that lends out sports equipment for free.

The schoolyard party is part of a wider effort to increase physical activity among pupils, while strengthening links between school, family and community. With this year's large turnout, the initiative seems to be appreciated - and perhaps some of the participants have found their new leisure activity.
