For more than two years, two municipalities, within the framework of Make a Move, have tested and designed new ways to promote movement for different generations in each municipality. Based on these experiences, we can now discern several keys to success and will now share these during a conference!
- Through the work of the municipalities, we have learned many lessons about promoting movement for different target groups. The work has been tested in several different arenas, such as preschool, school and senior activities, and we can see a fairly large change in a short time when it comes to increasing movement," says Julia Hildorzon, project manager for Make a Move.
The work to promote movement within the framework of Make a Move is based on using physical literacy as an approach to create the conditions for wanting, being able and daring to be physically active.
- When we use physical literacy as an approach, we can promote movement among several different generations and it is not about expensive purchases of materials, but it is about changing the way of thinking about movement. This makes our model suitable for different types of municipalities and organizations while reaching out to many different target groups," says Julia.
During the conference, we will present concrete examples from preschool, school, community planning, leisure and senior activities where movement has been successfully promoted to contribute to well-being. The conference is aimed at those who work in municipalities or regions - politicians, civil servants and professionals who want to make a real difference.
- We have followed the work of municipalities closely and see that small changes lead to big change. That's why I believe our model can make a real difference in society," concludes Julia.
